This month's plant is holy basil, or tulsi.
An incredibly memorable and compelling plant for its scent and properties, holy basil often quickly becomes a culinary and medicinal favorite!
Although mine hasn't been growing so well this year {yet}, I absolutely have to talk about this glorious plant and show you some of my favorite ways to use it.
Our herbal action for holy basil is adaptogen. Adaptogens help our bodies adapt to all types of stresses in life while balancing our immune, nervous and endocrine systems. They work with each body differently, depending on what its specific needs are. Who doesn't need the adaptogen holy basil these days?
For a wild time as this, we're making holy basil lavender lip balm. It's a beautiful double whammy of plant medicine... the balm absorbs into your skin for calming and balancing properties and the scent, right under your nose, just makes you happy.

- lemon balm {for cold sores}
