This week's video and recipe {included below} are about as simple as you can get for the herbal kitchen.
Making herbal vinegars is a very old method of preserving summertime bounty. The vinegars extract the minerals, flavors, and medicinal benefits of the plants, and they are infinitely useful in warm {and cold} weather recipes.
Plus, apple cider vinegar is helpful for digestion, regulating blood sugar, and lowering cholesterol.
Make an afternoon spritzer with some basil-infused apple cider vinegar, a muddled strawberry and some sparkling water. Add a tablespoon to your grains or greens. Blend up a homemade salad dressing with olive oil, salt, pepper and medicinal vinegar.
Easy-as-pie!
