This week we have a hands-on, silky smooth, yet gently exfoliating aromatic herbal experience.... a floral face scrub.
This one is fun to do with kiddos, would be amazing with some wine, music and lady friends, and is definitely soothing and meditative to make by yourself.
We, of course, will include the herb of the month, chamomile, in this herbal project that takes about 5 minutes to blend up.
Chamomile is fabulous internally or externally. Since we're making a scrub today, I'll share that it promotes beautiful skin by helping skin conditions such as itchy acne, burns, rashes, and conjunctivitis {It also helps teething babies too}.
Use any of these flowers {or others} in this scrub:
- rose
- tones tissues, holds water in the skin, soothes redness
- calendula
- reduces inflammation, helps with scar healing, soothes irritation
- yarrow
- reduces acne, shrinks the appearance of pores, natural astringent
- lavender
- antimicrobial, cleansing, and calming to the skin
- jasmine
- boosts collagen production, moisturizes, reduces appearance of scars
- helichrysum
- evens skin tone and texture, high in antioxidants, clears build up
