In this email, I'm challenging you to make a simple medicine for your apothecary that is packed with Vitamin C... it holds powerful antioxidantproperties, boosts immunity, promotes glowing skin and protects your heart.
This email is also killing my obsessive, organizational brain because we're doing two weeks of syrups in a row.
But look at me being wild and just going with the flow!
I was going to share a video and recipe of how to make elderberry lollipopsthis week, but my experiments were a complete FAILURE.
I always talk about playing, experimenting, getting in the kitchen and just getting your hands dirty. Most of the time something creative and uniquecomes out of the process. And then sometimes, it just doesn't work.
The first round of lollipops were honey-based, and they were chewier than hard. The second round I used sugar hoping to get a firm lollipop, but now can't get them out of the molds and they won't even freeze. Help!
So... I'm practicing pivoting and embracing what isn't working and finding something that does.
Enter pine needles. Scott and I are doing lots of clean up inside and outside in preparation for hosting Thanksgiving. We chopped down all of the small pine trees growing around the front door. What to do with all the pine needles???
Pine Needles are high in vitamin c. And so are rose hips, which have been a big topic of conversation in the Women's Apprenticeship... so I thought, "Let's do a vitamin C syrup for our holiday cocktails!"
It tastes and smells like the holidays.
